Some new volunteers told us they were unsure whom to ask when a task was unfamiliar. We are therefore introducing a buddy system for the first three visits. Each new volunteer will work alongside someone experienced, who can explain routines and show where supplies are kept. The buddy is not expected to answer every specialist question; safety concerns must still go to the coordinator. After three visits, the pair will discuss whether more support is needed.
